Biography
Atle is now residing in Oslo, but grew up in Stavanger, one of the major cities of southwest Norway, well known for its changing weather and charming dialect. Among many fascinating things, music and art were the greatest, and after a few years of tinkering with the piano, he got his first violin in 2001. He soon discovered the mandolin, which he started playing a year later. Since then, Atle has been involved with different projects, studied folk music at Fana Folkehøgskole and popular music at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. He is currently a member of
Coast Quartet and Laura James' band, and has also recorded with Synne Sanden, Teresa Bernabe and Rosie Jones

From 2006, until early 2009, he was the mandolinist of
Stambordet, combining Norwegian folk music with bluegrass, jazz and more. The band released an album in November 2008, which is also available on iTunes.

duo project with Fredrik Hovland, who is also a brilliant solo artist.
